11-19-21 THOUGHTS

My mind is rejoicing this morning.  This is my first day of freedom from my Covid quarantine. It’s a small thing, but significant enough that I feel free and thankful.  More to be thankful for is my health.  Thank you Lord!    The Psalm below pictures God in two awesome ways that dominated the mind of God’s chosen people.  He was present above the Cherubim, enthroned there.  This is in the Holy of Holies above the ark of the covenant.  Holy God in their presence.  They knew this in their mind's eye, though they had never seen this. What they had seen (the Shekiniah of God) was the cloud over the Holy of Holies.  I try to imagine being there the first time that cloud settled over their tabernacle. You cannot “unsee” that!   Pictures of yesterday, but the same AWESOME GOD OF ALL ETERNITY!  Can we, as His people, learn to TREMBLE?
Ps 34:11  Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

Ps 99:1-9    The LORD reigns, let the peoples tremble; He is enthroned above the cherubim, let the earth shake! 2  The LORD is great in Zion, And He is exalted above all the peoples.3  Let them praise Your great and awesome name; Holy is He. 4  The strength of the King loves justice; You have established equity; You have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.  5  Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His footstool; Holy is He. 6  Moses and Aaron were among His priests, And Samuel was among those who called on His name; They called upon the LORD and He answered them. 7  He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud; They kept His testimonies And the statute that He gave them. 8  O LORD our God, You answered them; You were a forgiving God to them, And yet an avenger of their evil deeds. 9  Exalt the LORD our God And worship at His holy hill, For holy is the LORD our God.

Acts 9:31   So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.
Rom 14:19   So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another.

My Prayer:
May we learn to tremble O God, for we are ever in Your presence.  What an awesome truth that is.  Set that truth, O God, in the depths of our hearts, that we might serve you with gladness and rejoicing.  You only are God, and we desire to live with you eternally.  Thank you for the Christ who makes that hope real by being our eternal Passover.  May we live in awe as we wait for the perfection of all things.  May we have a healthy fear of You O Lord.  We exalt you above all.
In the name of Jesus we pray,           Amen
